The meeting pointed out that the agricultural mechanization departments at all levels should focus on the work positioning of "guaranteeing security, and revitalizing circulation", and scientifically plan the "14th Five-Year Plan" around "guarantee supply, connectivity, ban fishing, construction, key points, and reform." "The key tasks strongly support the development of modern agriculture and the revitalization of the countryside.

The meeting put forward six key tasks:

It is necessary to support the guarantee of supply, strengthen the research and development of core technologies and key equipment, and promote the realization of full coverage of mechanization in various industries, regions, and links, so as to provide support for ensuring supply security. Important agricultural products such as grain;

It is necessary to gather efforts to connect, accelerate the development of mechanization in hilly and mountainous areas, old revolutionary areas, and remote areas, and focus on consolidating and expanding the results of poverty alleviation and the effective connection of rural revitalization;

It is necessary to help construction, accelerate the promotion of mechanization and intelligence, and take the initiative to land in the construction of modern facility agriculture, smart agriculture, and digital villages;

It is necessary to keep a close eye on key issues and promote the close integration of mechanization with breed selection, improvement of cultivated land quality, and green and low-carbon development;

Pay attention to fishing bans, accurately match the needs of mechanized technology and equipment, and meet the needs of fishermen in the Yangtze River Basin for mechanized technology and equipment;

It is necessary to integrate into reforms, vigorously develop socialized agricultural machinery services, promote innovation in agricultural production relations and business models with mechanization, and play a role in realizing the organic connection between smallholders and modern agriculture.

The meeting also made arrangements for key tasks in 2021, such as formulating a short list of agricultural machinery demand, mechanization to ensure grain production, increase and decrease income, agricultural machinery purchase subsidies, implementation of the Northeast Black Soil Protective Farming Action Plan, and safe production of agricultural machinery.
